To early acces or not to early access

We are getting Early Access games on Steam for a long time already and gog.com has started to sell them as well a while back, but is this good or bad? Should developers get money before finishing a game and if they get all the money before the game is done are they motivated to even finish the game?

What are your thought on this?

I think they're motivated to finish the game, IF they get money. But if you puplish your game in a early access version and no one is interested in that game, you maybe decide to stop development or change the game massive. But there is potential, that some rogue guys just try to grab money that way. But gamers communicate and there should be no big problem. A v1.0 game is also no
guarantee for quality.
