During CitezenCon in Manchaster Chris Roberts showed the Alpha 2.0 build of Star Citizen in which the player get access to a huge universe. People can already view this universe with the Starmap they released. With the starmap you go into a 3D universe where you can look around at all the starsystems and planets. Just click on one of them and you'll zoom in and by clicking next to a planet or system you will zoom out again

During the more then 2 hour presentation Chris told us more about the development of the game and also showed gameplay footage of the game. You will be able to pilot a multi-crew ship in this version and there are 38 playable missions.

The universe you play in is 200 billion cubic kilometers (which is pretty large) and the developer promises fluid gameplay without loading screens. The first-person mode that was originally planned for last spring but got delayed will be in the 2.0 version.
Chris also announced that a few big Hollywood stars are working with them on the single player part of the game (Squadron 42). Among those are Gary Oldman, Gillian Anderson and Mark Hamill. These stars are not just doing voice acting, but they will be in the game trough motion capture.
A release dat has not been set for the Alpha 2.0 version, but it will be 'soon' according to Chris, but first version 1.3.0 will be released.
